⁠I'm excited to be included in the "Through the Looking Glass" group show in NYC, on view from February 26 through March 8 in Midtown. Curated by , the exhibit includes 10 international artists to explore concepts of shifting & altered perspectives of the familiar and known.⁠

"Inspired by the relationships of the built and imagined environment, McConnico's latest work explores a blurred context between the two—manipulating the viewer's perspective in sometimes surreal ways. It is this 'real vs. imagined' interplay that informs his dramatic mixed media pieces."⁠

My "Wishful Structures" series is the culmination of a multi-year project, merging my past techniques and latest art practice into an ongoing body of work. ⁠
⁠
I never set out to be a Surrealist. The phantasmagoric quality of this series has manifested itself organically, evolving from prior representational landscapes & architectural renderings to a more dreamlike and otherworldly state. ⁠
⁠
The conversation with my subject matter has also changed over time, in which I’ve allowed myself to let the scene and structures inform the journey along the way. It’s just my job to listen.⁠
