One thing about being a tattoo artist is that you meet so many different people.

Sometimes we spend 2, 3, 4, even 6 hours together. We talk about friendship, relationships, families, careers, mistakes, things we regret, things we’re proud of… and sometimes things people probably didn’t expect to tell their tattoo artist that day 😂

And all these conversations made me realize something.

The older I get, the more selective I become about the people I let into my life.

But I still can’t decide if that’s maturity… or if we simply have less patience for people as we get older.

Maybe when we’re younger, we’re more willing to overlook things just because we want connection. And with age, we start protecting our time and energy more.

Or maybe we just become less tolerant. 😅

I’m curious — do you think becoming more selective with people as you get older is a sign of maturity, or are we just losing patience?
