Hello everyone!

The Ocean Township Spartan Players are participating in the Garden State Equality’s “Equality Walk Weekend” on October 12th.

Our fall drama this year is The Laramie Project, which discusses the aftermath of the brutal murder of an openly gay student Matthew Shepard. He was beaten, tortured, and left to die on a fence post near Laramie, Wyoming. His murder made national headlines and the play’s themes are still applicable to our society today.

The OTHS Spartan Players have formed a team for the walk called “Matthew’s Angels”. We want your support in helping us raise money for Garden State Equality, who contribute so much to the LGBTQ+ community!

Any donation to the link below would be greatly appreciated! All proceeds will go directly to Garden State Equality!

Our goal is to erase hate and spread love in the name of Matthew Shepard. Thank you🏳️‍🌈

A HUGE part of this years Fall Production is creating student educational outreach by supporting LGBTQ+ causes. Since we'll be rehearsing all day Saturday, we'd like to buy pizzas for our cast and crew. Many parents have expressed an interest in supporting us, so if you'd like to send in a monetary donation to put towards the pizza, we would greatly appreciate it! Meet the passengers of the S.S. American: Moonface Martin!

"Moon is hands down the most ridiculous role I have ever played, but also extremely challenging in his own way. Where else have I gone through three accents in one show, two disguises, and this much physical comedy? He was difficult for sure, but doing this show every night with these people is so much fun. Meet the passengers of the S.S. American: Elijah Whitney!

"Playing Eli Wh**ey in Anything Goes has really helped me step out of my comfort zone when it comes to creating and becoming a character. With a character like Whitney, I was tasked with having to make more bold character choices to bring out the wild and fun-loving nature of this character. He is certainly one of the craziest and most fun characters I have ever played in a show. I am so incredibly excited for everyone to see this show because it really is a show for everyone! See you there!"

Meet the passengers of the S.S. American: Evangeline Harcourt!

"The expression 'older and wiser', as they say, is definitely applicable with Mrs. Harcourt. Becoming Evangeline has been an interesting experience: I've added depth to a superficial character, developed motherly instincts a 17 year old kinda shouldn't have, and attempted to grasp a desperation that came from monetary loss in the 1930's. This role, especially, has reminded me of a phrase I remind myself of daily: everything happens for a reason. Mrs. Harcourt has taught me to make the most out of every role you receive, be grateful for every experience you're given, and learn from every mistake you've made. Enjoy the show!"
