Big news! Help us give a massive congratulations to Colin Parrish, our Marguerite Blake Junior Playhouse Scholarship recipient for the 2025-2026 season! 🏆✨

Colin has been such a bright light on our stage over the last few years, and we are so incredibly proud to support him as he takes this next step.

Here is what Colin had to say about his time with us:

"Ever since my sophomore year at Farragut High-School, I have fallen in love with the community at Oak Ridge Playhouse. Over the past two and a half years, I have participated in 5 wonderful performances that have shaped me into the actor I am today. I have always loved how the Playhouse works fast paced for their rehearsal processes. Thankfully, I’m only 30 minutes away as I am headed off to pursue my education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I most definitely plan to return frequently in the future to grow in my abilities. I would love to thank my parents, Matt and Carrie Parrish, who have supported my journey all this time. Most importantly, I would like to thank Oak Ridge Playhouse for giving the most unforgettable experiences I could ask for."

We’re officially on our feet! Here is a quick look at our very first staging rehearsal photo for Come From Away. The cast is already working hard, 2 weeks of music rehearsals and scripts in hand, to bring this story to our stage.

If you aren't familiar with the show, it’s the true story of 7,000 airline passengers who were stranded in a tiny town in Newfoundland on September 11. It’s a funny, heartbreaking, and ultimately beautiful story about how a community came together to take care of total strangers.

We are so incredibly proud to be bringing the East Tennessee premiere of this show to Oak Ridge next month.

When: Select dates from July 10 through July 26, 2026.

FRONT OF HOUSE VOLUNTEER TRAINING!

Looking for a way to get more involved with Oak Ridge Playhouse?
Join us on Saturday, June 27 from 10:30am-12:00 Noon for our Front of House Training! Whether you're a returning volunteer or interested in joining our team for the first time, this training will prepare you for roles including VBO Ticket Sales, House Managers, and House Supervisors.

We'll cover:
✔ Patron experience and customer service
✔ Front of House procedures and expectations
✔ Communication and teamwork
✔ The new ticket scanning app
✔ The new VBO Box Office platform

Breakfast refreshments will be provided.

Front of House volunteers are an essential part of every performance. You're often the first person a patron meets when they arrive, helping create a welcoming, organized, and enjoyable experience from the moment they walk through our doors.

Volunteer perks include complimentary tickets to a future performance, opportunities to connect with fellow theatre supporters, and a chance to play a direct role in keeping live theatre thriving in our community.

This training is required for anyone wishing to volunteer in a Front of House position.
