If you’re looking for somewhere to be on Halloween night, we have a pretty good suggestion.

MONSTER MASH BASH. 🎃

We’re taking over Oak Ridge Playhouse on October 31 for three hours of music, dancing, costumes, drinks, food, and a whole lot of Halloween fun.

Party Boys DJ Show || Knoxville, TN Disc Jockey will be keeping the music going from 8–11 PM, and the cash bar will be open all night. We’ll have heavy hors d’oeuvres, a photobooth, a tarot card reader, and a costume contest with prizes from Gaia's Wisdom, Crimson Curiosities, and more.

So yes, you should probably start thinking about what you’re wearing.

This is 21+, tickets are $30, and space is limited.

Come with your friends. Come in costume. Come ready to dance. Just make sure you’re here.

What's the difference between General Admission and Reserved Seating?

We get asked this at the box office all the time! Here is a quick breakdown of how both work.

GENERAL ADMISSION (GA) is all about flexibility.

There are no assigned seat numbers on your ticket. When doors open, you head in and pick whatever open spot you like best. If you want a prime view or need to keep a group together, the secret is just arriving 20 to 30 minutes before curtain.

A great example is our upcoming show, Second Act: A Solo Show with Alex Temple Ward. You just come early, pick your spot, and settle in!

RESERVED SEATING is all about zero stress.

You pick your exact row and seat when you buy your ticket online, so that spot is 100% guaranteed. Whether you step through the doors first or walk in right before the lights dim, your chair is waiting for you. That gives you plenty of time to hang out in the lobby, grab a drink, and catch up with friends without any rush.

Why are we so obsessed with traditional theater formats? According to performer Alex Temple Ward, it’s because we live our actual lives in acts and intermissions. In his hilarious and heart-filled solo debut, Ward brings incredible vocal power, witty stories, and a fresh mix of musical styles to the stage as he reflects on love, loss, and calling places for the top of his own "second act."

The Playhouse family is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Reeva Abraham, a longtime volunteer, patron, and donor.

Reeva has been a part of us since the 1960s, volunteering in almost every facet of the theatre from backstage to stage management to box office to painting scenery. Although she never had a lot of interest in being onstage, she did appear in a production of Fiddler on the Roof and The Full Monty.

Always with a cheery smile or a wry comment, Reeva was the Playhouse’s biggest cheerleader for over 60 years. She will be deeply missed.

Today we remember the lives lost and the humanity found during the tragedy of 9/11.

As we reflect on the 25th anniversary of the tragedy that changed us all, we are so honored to have been able to tell a story of community, hope, and togetherness this past summer.

Come From Away taught us all that through tragedy and turmoil, we can still choose love.

Like so many across East Tennessee and around the world, our hearts are heavy today with the news of Dolly Parton’s passing.

Dolly wasn’t just a global icon; she was our neighbor. Her warmth, her extraordinary generosity, and her timeless songwriting brought light into so many lives and made everyone proud to call East Tennessee home.

Putting her music, humor, and heart on our stage during our 2019 production of 9 to 5 The Musical was an absolute privilege for all of us at Oak Ridge Playhouse. Looking back on these production photos today, we’re reminded of the sheer joy her storytelling brought to our cast, crew, and audience.

Thank you, Dolly, for everything you gave to our community and to the world. We will always love you. 🤍 🦋
