Like so many across East Tennessee and around the world, our hearts are heavy today with the news of Dolly Parton’s passing.

Dolly wasn’t just a global icon; she was our neighbor. Her warmth, her extraordinary generosity, and her timeless songwriting brought light into so many lives and made everyone proud to call East Tennessee home.

Putting her music, humor, and heart on our stage during our 2019 production of 9 to 5 The Musical was an absolute privilege for all of us at Oak Ridge Playhouse. Looking back on these production photos today, we’re reminded of the sheer joy her storytelling brought to our cast, crew, and audience.

Thank you, Dolly, for everything you gave to our community and to the world. We will always love you. 🤍 🦋

Want to get a little more involved at the Playhouse? We’re always looking for volunteers to help out both in front of and behind the curtain.

Maybe you like working with people. Maybe you’d rather be backstage building something. Or maybe you just want to meet some new people and try something different. There’s a place for you here.

No experience? That’s okay. We’ll show you the ropes.

THE DINING ROOM brings those moments to the stage as seven actors take on dozens of characters, moving through different families and generations. It’s funny, heartfelt, and full of the little moments that feel surprisingly familiar.

Out with the old and in with the fresh! 🧹✨

Our Green Room got a little TLC this weekend, and we couldn't have done it without an amazing group of volunteers and members of the Come From Away cast who showed up ready to work. There was plenty of sweeping, hauling, organizing, and probably a little more dust than anyone expected, but the difference is already incredible.

It feels especially fitting that a show centered on kindness, community, and showing up for one another inspired so many people to do exactly that for the Playhouse. That's what makes this place so special.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy to help make our Green Room a more welcoming space for the artists who call it home. We can't wait to share more as we continue giving it a fresh new look. 💙
