Join our docents for a free and expansive tour of the entire home, or take your time on a self-guided tour of the first floor. Note: The last guided tour will begin at 1:45P and the last self-guided tour may begin at 2:30P.

Pleasant Home was designed in 1897 and completed in 1898. It is a lasting tribute to architect George Washington Maher and also to Pleasant Home’s early owners: John and Mamie Farson, and Herbert and Leonie Mills.

It is situated on 4.43 acres of land, now known as Mills Park. When John Farson first purchased the land, he designated the corner of Pleasant and Home to be the location of his mansion. To obtain the full acreage surrounding the home, Farson purchased houses on nearby lots and had them razed. Total acquisition of land was not achieved until 1906.
