HOME Gallery HOME: an ongoing experimental living and exhibition space. http://thelarch.org/home.html

HOME will reopen at our new location at 125 N Harvey Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302 with a permanent installation by Marianne Fairbanks! History:

Home was started in 2007 as a way to use the private home as a public beacon and free space to explore broader ideas of home as a constantly shifting state of mind and platform for neighborly exchange. "...home as a place and a mindset, a psycho-geography, a s

et of relationships with things and people, within the home, and surrounding the home, a stage set with social and material parameters, an idea that is perhaps never realized, a story that we tell ourselves and others that is both documentary and fiction…" John Preus.

Dear friends of Home Gallery!

We have had to regroup after losing our financial support from Top Studios! We are here with a strong vision for the future, come by and see us tonight at the art and music event, Popped 6 to 11 or tomorrow 12 to 5 at the Indie City book fair to see where we are headed and our new booklet shelving by Kevin Reiswig!!

If you have have participated in one of our exhibitions, been inspired by the art shown, met some interesting people with whom you have developed a friendship or collaboration, bought something amazing or needed at our thrift, made something great with your kids or learned a new skill, enjoyed a concert or just had a nice time at any of our events or spaces, and want independent programming, exhibits and events to keep happening here in Hyde Park, please consider donating to our Indiegogo campaign now!

We need to raise $15,000 to cover overhead for this beautiful storefront after we lost our funding. It's fast and easy, you get perks like a cool t-shirt and poster designed by Kione Konchi, access to shared studio space, a great after school program for the upcoming year, an independent animation festival, experimental music programming and all kinds of upcoming classes, workshops and events for all ages.

All contributions are appreciated!

Thank you for your continued support!
Laura and all of us at SHoP

Hosts are Margaret Bruno and Peter Zelchenko.
