Currently, the Whidbey Playhouse produces five shows (plays & musicals) during the regular season (September through June). Auditions are open to everyone (regardless of experience) and are usually held 45 to 60 days prior to the opening of a show. Season shows generally run 8 performances for musicals and 9 for non-musicals, scheduled usually on Friday, and Saturday evenings, plus at least three matinees, usually on Sunday afternoon. Participation “behind the scenes” is also encouraged. There is always a need for ushers, set builders, costumers, stagehands, etc. On or off the stage, Whidbey Playhouse is fun!

This past weekend, the Whidbey Playhouse celebrated our volunteers with the Playhouse Palooza. Calling all Whidbey Playhouse volunteers! Come join us for Playhouse Palooza — an afternoon of food, fun, and celebrating the wonderful volunteers who make our Playhouse community so special!

And when we say volunteers, we mean ALL of you!
Have you acted on our stage? Worked backstage? Helped with lights or sound? Worked concessions? House managed? Built a set? Helped with costumes, props, or a production in any way?

Then YOU are a Whidbey Playhouse volunteer, and this celebration is for you!

We’ll be serving burgers, hot dogs, and sides, along with cake to celebrate YOU — our amazing volunteers! We’ll also have games, karaoke, face painting, shaved ice, and plenty of time to visit and have fun with your Playhouse family.

And don’t miss Dunk a Director! For just $5, you’ll get the chance to dunk some of your favorite directors from this past season, with special guest appearances throughout the afternoon. All proceeds will go toward upgrades to the Playhouse lighting and sound systems.

It's that time of the year again. Enrollment for our Would-Be Players Youth Education program are now open for sign-ups. This program is designed to teach everything from the basic fundamentals of theater, to the more complex aspects of the theater.
