Trust Your Artist. 📣
We know AI and ChatGPT are here.. to be honest, they can be helpful tools when it comes to gathering ideas, finding inspiration, or getting a concept started. We don’t fully discourage using them ‼️
But there’s a big difference between an image that looks good on a screen and a tattoo that works on skin.
Some AI-generated designs simply aren’t translatable to a tattoo. The shading you see isn’t always realistic. Some details are too small, some areas are too busy, and certain effects may look great in an Instagram picture but won’t necessarily age well as a tattoo.
We tattoo with longevity in mind, not just how it looks in the picture the day it’s finished 📷
That’s where trusting your artist comes in.
Your artist can adjust the shading, add or remove shadows, change small details, create better contrast, and make decisions based on your skin, the size of the piece, and where it’s being placed. Those are things an app can’t fully account for.
Bring us your AI image. Bring us your Pinterest screenshot. Bring us your rough idea. We’re happy to use it as a starting point. Just give your artist the freedom to turn that idea into something that actually works as a tattoo.
And no, we’re not saying you should trust just anyone who owns a tattoo machine lol
But you can trust the artists here at Hell or High Water to know the difference between what looks good on a screen and what will look good on your skin.
