Ceili Dancing at Chicago Gaelic Park Chicago Gaelic Park has been hosting ceili dancing and lessons since the 1980’s. It was started by Mary Carmody and Donna Killen.

It takes place in the Tara Room. Learn dances such as Walls of Limerick, Morris Reel, Haymakers Jig and many more!

Chicago Gaelic Park hosts traditional Irish Ceili dancing and lessons in the Tara Room each Tuesday night. Lesson are from 7:00 – 7:30pm, and the Ceili is 7:30 – 9:00pm. The Walls of Limerick, Morris Reel, Haymakers Jig and so many more dances are taught by Donna Killen, TCRG.

Ceili dancing is a form of Irish social dancing commonly seen in Ireland, England, Australia and America. It is danced in couples, threesomes, sets of four, as well as large groups to lively jigs, reels and hornpipes. The footwork is basic and easy to learn.
