One of my favorite views from behind the booth.

Their first dance. Everyone watching. I asked the wonderful coordinators at Forest Park Golf Course to dim the lights, then programmed my movers to frame them in a soft glow that fit the room and the moment. It takes a team to make magic happen and we made it happen.

These are the parts of DJing I love most. I’m not just playing music. I’m creating the atmosphere around the moments people will remember forever. ❤️

When I started building WAR//DRUM, I made a decision that I wasn’t going to build it around “good enough.” I want equipment I trust, sound that hits the way it should, and a setup that lets me walk into an event knowing I can deliver.

So yes, sometimes another suspiciously large box shows up at the house. 😬

But every piece of gear is an investment in the experience I’m creating for my clients.

Buy once. Buy right. Build the business you actually want to have.

It starts in the lab. 🔥🔥🔥

Saturday’s wedding doesn’t start Saturday. It starts days before, right here .

I’m going through their planning guide, building crates around the music they love, checking the songs tied to the important moments, finding transitions, and thinking through how I want the energy to move throughout the night.

I’ll have the must plays ready. The special songs downloaded. The requests covered.

But I’m also preparing for everything they can’t put on a planning form.

What happens when the dance floor suddenly wants something completely different? What song takes a good moment and turns it into a WHOA moment? When do I switch directions, and when do I let a track breathe?

I don’t show up with a playlist and press play. I prepare so thoroughly that when Saturday comes, I have the freedom to read the room, trust my instincts, and build the night in real time.

Intentional vibe building.
