Here are the Rules:
If you want to participate in painting and hiding rocks around the Nyackâs, please join. If you find a painted rock you can:
1.) Leave it where you found it, or
2.) Keep it if you like it, or
3.) Your choice
If you want to paint and hide rocks, please:
use acrylic paint with a top coat sealant (Modge Podge works great.) Write "Nyack Rocks/fb" on back
(so people know where to
look for information about it)
Post a picture of the rock with a hint to where it can be found. If you find a rock:
Take a picture of it and post it on Nyack Rocks page, so those hiding and other searchers know it was found. Keep the rock, share it or re-hide it. If re-hid, post a hint as to where it can be found. If you find a painted rock that is not marked "Nyack Rocks/fb", please leave it where you found it AS IT IS not part of this group activity. Note:
Do not paint over or change the artwork on a rock you found-respect the hard work and time the original artist put into it. If the original work is messed up, you can try to fix it. This group was started to create a fun outdoor activity that families can participate in. Like a year round Easter egg hunt. You are not required to paint rocks
You do not need to hide rocks or re-hide any rocks you may find. If you only want to look for rocks, that's fine. Just enjoy you self and get as involved as you like. Happy Rock hunting everyone!!!
