Meet the Michigan State Fair Summer Intern Team! 🤩

We’re excited to welcome four talented interns who will be helping make this year’s Michigan State Fair even more memorable.

Ava, a junior at Spring Arbor University majoring in Marketing, can’t wait to enjoy one of her favorite fair traditions: Guernsey’s chocolate milk.

Sydney is a senior at Wayne State University studying Communications and Media Studies. What she loves most about the fair is the atmosphere—the excitement, energy, and seeing everyone come together to have fun.

Camden, a sophomore at Michigan State University majoring in Business, is all about the fair food. His must-have treats? Elephant ears and funnel cake!

Keith is studying Business Administration at Oakland Community College and enjoys the fair’s welcoming environment and the opportunity to connect with so many people throughout the event.

If you see them helping out with all things fair related, be sure to say hello! They’re ready to help create an unforgettable Michigan State Fair experience for our guests. 🎡☀️🐄

Whether you’re into agriculture, events, creativity, or just love being part of something fun and meaningful, there’s a spot for you here. You’ll learn, grow, try new things, and make memories you’ll actually talk about later (in the best way).

We officially kicked off gardening season! 🌱

This week we seeded a wide variety of greens and vegetables that will soon make their way into our garden beds. Huge thank you to Technical Campus for opening up their incredible greenhouse and giving us the perfect space to get the season started.

We’re excited to watch these seedlings grow!

Recently, the Michigan State Fair welcomed members of our Youth Council for a hands-on planning meeting as we gear up for the 2026 MSF Youth Educational Garden! ☀️

Together, we explored what to plant and where each item will thrive within the garden beds. With guidance from Ms. Ruthann, MSU Master Gardener, and Ms. Victoria of Renee Lily’s Purple Space Urban Farm, our Youth Council learned all about companion planting and smart garden layout.

We’re excited to watch their ideas take root and grow! 🌿💚

In case you missed it, we were proud to crown Lori Clough as our 2025 Michigan Homemaker of the State at the fair this past summer! She exemplifies what it means to serve her community and her family while preserving the art of hands-on skills.

A longtime Armada-area resident, Lori is a proud mom of two accomplished daughters and works part-time with the Huron-Clinton Metroparks, bringing nature and history programs to schools, libraries, senior centers, and community events. She’s a passionate advocate for senior outreach, a 19-year 4-H fine art leader, and the Macomb County 4-H Poultry Superintendent.

When she’s not working, Lori can be found gardening, preserving her harvest, caring for her poultry, creating art, or enjoying the outdoors through camping, kayaking, and hiking. 🌿🎨🐔

The 2025 Michigan State Fair scholarship winners traveled to Lansing for a special visit to Michigan’s Capitol Building, where they had the opportunity to connect with state leaders.

Senator Rosemary Bayer congratulated the recipients and learned about their incredible projects, while House Representative Kelly Breen welcomed the students and proudly introduced them on the House floor.

A memorable day celebrating the next generation of Michigan talent! A big thank you to everyone at the Capitol for the warm welcome and continued support of the Michigan State Fair. 💛

Last night, our Michigan State Fair family came together for the annual Harvest Dinner — an evening dedicated to celebrating this year’s incredible achievements and honoring everyone who made them possible.

This year’s fair welcomed over 200,000 visitors from 213 communities across Michigan — a true testament to the fair’s growing reach, impact, and the shared pride we all have in this great state. The support we’ve received not only fuels the growth of the fair itself, but also allows us to give back in powerful ways.

To date, the Michigan State Fair has contributed more than $8 million to local communities — including over $800,000 this year alone!

We were also thrilled to announce that through our “Moovin’ Thru the Midway 5K,” we were able to donate $17,500 to Military Families United — a cause close to our hearts.

The evening was filled with moments of gratitude and celebration. A special thank you to Chef Andrew, who handcrafted an unforgettable meal featuring ingredients grown right in our Michigan State Fair Youth Educational Garden. From garden to gourmet, every bite showcased the spirit of Michigan agriculture.

And what an incredible performance by Izzy Joy, our 2025 Michigan State Fair Superstar winner, whose powerful vocals and piano artistry lit up the evening.

As we look ahead, we’re inspired by what we’ve accomplished together — and even more excited about what’s to come.

Together, we continue to honor tradition, foster community, and celebrate all the things that make Michigan great. 💚
