✨Meet Mr. Dan ✨

Dan started his professional dance career at 17, training right here at Big City Dance Center in Detroit.

Since then he's worked with choreographers like Ade Obayomi, Blake McGrath, Kam Saunders, Matt Cady, and Christa Smutek, performed at festivals and showcases across the country, and spent three years with SueMo Dance Company (now Water Street Dance Milwaukee), where he also choreographed for their sister company, SueMo II.

He's stepped into modeling and TV too, including work with Disney Channel, and spent time building his career in LA before coming back to the Midwest.

Now he's here teaching, choreographing, and performing, and sharing everything he's learned along the way with our dancers.

Mark your calendars. Big City Dance Center is opening our doors for an Open House on September 1st from 6:00-8:00pm.

Come tour the studio, meet some of the instructors, and see what makes BCDC feel like home for so many dance families.

From 6:30-7:30pm, we're offering free beginner and intermediate classes, so new dancers can jump in and try it out firsthand. There will also be Big City swag and a chance to win prizes.

We'll be sharing the full class schedule soon, so keep watching this page for details before September 1st.

Meet the staff: Miss Kelsey Rose Young

Kelsey is a dynamic force in the dance world, known for her appearance on So You Think You Can Dance, judging national dance competitions, and teaching at major dance conventions and festivals across the country.

She's choreographed for national commercials including Dodge Ram, created halftime show routines for Detroit Pistons games, and performed as a backup dancer for Jay Sean. She directs the Detroit Tap Repertory, owns Wing It Tap Intensive and Challenge, and just launched Fortune Dance Competition.

With a deep passion for performance and education, she brings energy, expertise, and inspiration to every stage and studio she steps into.

We're lucky to have her on the team.
