Not long ago, our club received a letter from the Gottscheer club in Milwaukee—one of the few remaining branches of our small and precious family. As we read the words sharing that their club would no longer continue, a quiet stillness settled over us. It was the kind of sorrow felt deep in the heart, beyond what words can easily carry, reminding us just how meaningful and fragile these sacred connections truly are.
For generations, the Milwaukee club has been far more than another gathering place—they have been part of our shared story. Together we have known laughter that filled rooms with warmth, traditions lovingly passed from one generation to the next, and friendships so genuine they became family. These memories do not fade with time or distance; they live on within us, shaping who we are and reminding us where we come from. Though their doors may close, the spirit that lived within them endures.
