Hey, Pals~ Here's a living tribute to a great and long time friend, 'Gunny' Allen Nay who lived in Norwood quite a few years ago!

This is a Harley Hydra-Glide from the late 40's to mid 50's that was recently reprised by Harley as a big engined modern bike in disguise!

See a bit of a slide show from simple drawing to 3/4 done, to final touches and signature...What do you think!

Friend, "What's on your mind", asks FB...Car Parts, I reply...how 'bout you? I'll be you've got challenging projects going? I'm doing new hub bearings, wheel studs, disk re machines, brake pads, AND a new steering pump and lines on the '04 Xterra, noble beast that it is!

Painting is on sabbatical until I get my Lions of Judah 'free print' (really just very low cost - $10 for the first 8x11.5 pro print on pro presentation paper of the 5 print collection, delivered) ready to publish out in cyber world through FB 'ads' that will link to the actual offer with options to buy another or all of the collection at reduced rates and then be part of a VIP group to receive future offers.

If you want to jump into that right now, of course, you are welcome. Just email me at [email protected], tell me which of the 5 lions you'd like (and if you'd like another or all at a special price) and I'll get back to you!

BTW retail for individual prints of the above quality are $25 and up not including postage, so being on my VIP list is worthwhile with its 'family' pricing. 😊

Enjoy Summer! Take a leap into some 'Dream' you've been holding on to! Be Blessed!

Friend! In all the 43 years I've lived in this strange, but beautiful, backward yet sublime, trafficless unless you count the deer, Elk, lions, bears, hawks, crows, squirrels, porcupines, snakes (on occasion), orioles, tanagers, grossbeaks, western king birds, chickadees, herons, eagles, geese, and so many other fascinating creaturesm an old farmhouse and outbuildings down the road has called my attention. As far as composition (never have a fence between you and the subject unless there is an opening; don't put the center of attention smack in the center; etc.) goes, I've broken some rules...not surprising if you know me. And, yes, much of this is made up except probably the old codger struggling with what may be a corral fence, off balance, wrapped up in the old Aspen trunks, but 'getting after it' even though he's not getting very far. And, yes, I'm pretty sure that was me thinking on the previous decades before I painted this some 20 years ago. It always catches me by surprise and I really like, as if someone else had painted it! I only put it on my website 2 years ago and it has 1552 views as of today. I hope you enjoy it. What, who, why, where do you see in this??? I'd love to know! Enjoy! πŸ˜„

Moms~ Happy Mother's Day! Here is a painting that I can attach multiple metaphors to, as I'm apt to do! At this moment, I'm seeing myself at those points in life when lack of maintenance and abuse were stopped and my mom 'put me on the hard', covered me with a tarp, jacked me up, and went to work! I think of her often with thankfulness and gratitude for her countless loving interventions...she modeled Jesus for me time and again when she came up out of her own abandonment derived depression to save, to encourage, to restore... me and countless others! Moms! NEVER discount your divine gift of life bearing...you are indispensable by definition! Love! 😍πŸ₯°

Friend~ 1400 + sets of eyes on this oldie but goodie. It was just featured and archived on Fine Art America. Crane 54 was seen a lot just down the hwy to the Miramonte Road when Jim Fourney owned the shop and yard. Always impressive, like the Iron Man Suit...so powerful, such a creation...this kind of stuff magnetizes my attention! I have no idea where the spooky sky came from! It just did as I painted. Reminds me of some of the 'modern' pioneers of watercolor from the 30's and 40's...What do you think? πŸ˜„

Friend~ Do you have fun pictures in your imagination of your youth? Here's one that reflects mine in a 're-purposing of reality' painting reminiscent of my 'high' surfing days in SoCal...but no surf in sight, just making surfboards (I 'glassed at Hobie's shop in the 60's)...I had fun putting a girl worker in this one, sanding in the foreground...I only remember one, who surfed for Hobie and learned to gloss coat boards in the time I was there. I hope you see the funk and fun in this one! Let me know what you think! 😁

Friend~ We all tend to suffer many 'little deaths' in this life, ironically it would seem, right? I'm really attracted to boats 'on the hard' (up on land), literally out of their element, their whole form 'exposed'. Have you ever been 'there'? I have, for sure and for certain! BUT, the best things in life come from 'little resurrections' in our lives and that is the underlying metaphysical theme of this painting that was just nominated by other artists on Fine Art America to be 'specially featured' on the 1000 + views Group - a real honor. Here's an old cruiser, wooden, worn, maybe from fishing, maybe from 'rejection'. BUT there is the 'archetypical' boat lover, power sanding away the old, protecting the old bones with tarps, intent on getting her back in the water, literally 'shipshape', or as they used to say, 'in Bristol condition'. I don't mean to tell you what to believe by any means, but for me, "Go, Jesus! I'll take your 2nd (and 3rd and 4th...) chance! Let's do it!" πŸ˜‚ Hope you get a kick out of it...

Friend~ Another one of those 'many viewed' paintings...this is a modified idea from friend Mike Heintz 's photography of his home town area outside of Harrold, South Dakota. He was a well known and liked Jeweler at the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival for 45 years. He will be missed, for sure and for certain. Until I catch up with him again, I celebrate his life and all the beauty he brought into it in many ways! Expecting to hear your forging hammer when I come on through the gates on down the road! You're with the Creator, the Father of all artists now! EnjoyπŸ˜ƒ
