Since our co-founders claimed the very first seats at our 85th anniversary celebration, more names have joined them on the chart. Every plaque is a piece of our community written into the Norwalk Theatre for generations to come.

In 1941, the Norwalk Theatre opened its doors as more than a movie house.Β  It became a gathering place where families celebrated, friends laughed together, first dates began, marriages were made, and generations created lasting memories.

Open to students grades 2nd-8th, our Junior Theatre is a 3 month educational program with a weekly class format. While students audition for their role, everyone registered will participate in the show! There will be 2 casts, guaranteeing that your child(ren) have shining roles!

Cost of registration is $150 per child and $75 for each additional child from the same household. Limited spots remain, register today!!!

β€œTonight isn’t just about looking back,” Norwalk Arts Center board president Jeff Cook said. β€œIt’s about looking forward.”

Todd Bemis, a volunteer adviser to the restoration project, spent more than four decades working with historic theaters for the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts. He pointed to Playhouse Square in Cleveland and the Lincoln Theatre in Columbus as examples of restored venues that have strengthened their surrounding communities.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate 85 years of the Norwalk Theatre and help us launch the next chapter of our capital campaign. Seeing this community show up is exactly why this place is worth saving.

A special thank-you to the hands behind our campaign "thermometer"! Greg Hiltbrunner of Hilt's Builds, who designed and built it, and Artists' Open Studio, Inc artists Oliver St. Clair, Jackie Hug, and Summer Braddock, who brought it to life. 🎨
