Mari Gyorgyey Art please 'follow' me or I will die The techniques of etching and drawing are used to express this transience. It is these increments I try to capture in my work.

Starting with multiples of my print the alteration of these duplicates begins. The print might be layered by different plates and or collaged with antique fabrics, old prints, or paint. Sometimes drawing will be added to further express transformation. As with a roll of film, each frame is a slight movement toward future action. My art is within the moments of change. Sometimes these images make s

ense, other times not. Each artwork, like life, is neither right or wrong -just a movement in time. My aesthetic interests and resulting images are predominantly from the twentieth century. Usually they are in the context of decorative, kitsch, and humorous theatrical environments. I want my vignettes to open a dialog which is delightful but thought-provoking. Everyday in the studio is an adventure. The characters and situations created reveal to me what the next step is in their life. The possibilities for the future of these metamorphic narratives are limitless as the subject matter itself.
