Congratulations to Dana Schwartz, recipient of Thrown Stone’s 2026 ESCAPE commission. This year, Dana will work with us on “GENTLEMEN HOSTS,” a new comedy about three men hired to dance with passengers on a cruise ship.

“I am so fascinated by the dynamic of male relationships,” Dana said. “I want to tell a story of unlikely friendships, and how they intersect. What escape means to each of them, why they jumped on board a cruise ship at those specific points in their lives, and how they might reluctantly or enthusiastically relate to each other. Can they maybe be soulmates?!”
