Today, Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Council 14360 proudly celebrates the birthday of our founder, Blessed Michael McGivney, the inspiration behind our commitment to faith, family, charity, and service.

Blessed Michael McGivney saw a need in his community and answered with a simple “yes” to God. His vision continues to inspire Knights everywhere to strengthen families, serve our neighbors, and put our faith into action.

As the Home of the Father Michael McGivney Playground, we are especially proud to honor his legacy by creating a place where children and families can gather, play, and grow together.

May Blessed Michael McGivney continue to inspire us to recognize the opportunities God places before us and respond with generous hearts.

Beautiful weather is in the forecast this weekend, making it the perfect time to enjoy one of St. Matthew Parish’s hidden treasures.

Did you know our Parish Playground is located just behind St. Matthew Church? Whether you’re spending time after Mass or looking for a peaceful place to enjoy an afternoon with your family, the playground offers a safe, fenced-in space where children can play while parents relax at the nearby picnic table.

The playground was built through the generosity of Knights of Columbus Council 14360 and is dedicated in honor of Blessed Michael J. McGivney, founder of the Knights of Columbus.

If you’re at St. Matthew this weekend, take a walk behind the church and enjoy this special place that has brought so much joy to our parish families.

The weather is getting beautiful, and there’s no better time for our parish families to enjoy the Father Michael McGivney Playground at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk!

After all Sunday Masses, we invite families to stay, fellowship, and let the children enjoy the playground together in the spirit of faith, family, and fraternity.

Inspired by Father Michael McGivney’s vision of strong Catholic families and community, this is a wonderful opportunity to spend time together with fellow parishioners and Knights while our children laugh and play.

May God continue to bless our parish families and all who call St. Matthew home. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

148 years ago today (Dec. 22, 1877), Michael McGivney was ordained a priest, beginning a life of humble service and pastoral love that would lead to the founding of the Knights of Columbus.

Today we thank God for Blessed Michael McGivney’s priestly yes.
