We had a great time performing at Sensei Dye's 60th Anniversary celebration. Congratulations, Sensei Dye!
Hoping to reach out to people who love taiko, and to spread knowledge of the Japanese drum to audiences far and wide. Hikari Taiko was founded in 1978 and has called the Southeast Japanese School and Community Center in Norwalk home since its inception.
Our songs range from traditional taiko rhythms and stylized movements to pieces that convey a story or theme. We’ve performed onstage at various amphitheaters; entertained people at weddings, corporate and private parties; educated students at schools and libraries; conducted workshops to introduce taiko to our audiences, and celebrated various cultural events. We love doing the drumming for Ondo

Hi everyone! It’s been a bit since we’ve posted on here. Taiko practice definitely isn’t what it used to be, but we’re doing what we can so those taiko beats and movements aren’t lost in these many weeks of social distancing. Here are some pics of our members getting creative at home: Angela records drills and posts to YouTube every Sunday, Al is practicing on his drum pad, Joyce is entertaining Milo, and Amber and Stephen are looking sharp with their practice tire drums.
We wanted give a shout out to just some of the awesome women that are part of our Hikari family for International Women's Day! They work hard, play harder, and bring their all for every performance
We love coming to support our friends at OCJAA at their annual new year luncheon year after year! Always great fun! @ DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort - Convention Center

One of our favorite times of the year is our Halloween celebration! We had a great time this year. More photos to come!
Sam is a dedicated taiko player. She's also a dedicated insurance agent. This is why she finds random places to sit and study while we wait for our turn on stage. Even if it does happen to be on dusty carts...
