When I first started dreaming up a community celebration for Art in Motion, it was supposed to happen for our 20th anniversary… but then Covid had other plans. Like so many others we had to pause, pivot and focus on keeping our studio family together through an uncertain time. The vision stayed tucked away until year 25!
With the help of my amazing Events Coordinator, Miss Kayla, we set out to create something truly special, something unlike anything Norton had seen before. We made list after list, brainstormed every detail and one afternoon set out to get the ball rolling. We visited as many small businesses as we could, and within months we had over 35 local businesses and families sponsoring and donating to our celebration! 🙌
Today we welcomed hundreds of dancers, parents, alumni, family and friends as we celebrated 25 years of Norton’s hometown studio, Art in Motion.
This event wasn’t just about celebrating AIM, it was also about giving back. Our raffle prizes benefited two meaningful causes, the Patty McCarthy Memorial Scholarship as well as giving back to the Norton Parks and Rec Department. Families were asked to bring a canned food donation to support the Norton Food Pantry. Those donations will be delivered this week, thanks to the generosity of our amazing AIM families.
I want to take a moment to give a huge thank you to my incredible team who worked tirelessly behind the scenes planning, setting up, running around all day and staying late to clean up. Your dedication and teamwork are what make events like this possible. And to our parent volunteers, thank you for jumping in wherever needed and lending a hand.
This dream that started small has grown stronger through every challenge and continues to shine because of the people who believe in it.
My heart is so full! ❤️
