The Paston/Spangler Band is, by its account, “a Detroit-built mean
machine made from parts New Orleans jazz plus African and Cuban
rhythms.” Lifelong buddies John “T-Bone” Paxton (trombonist and vocalist) and drummer RJ Spangler first worked together years ago with a popular Detroit band, the Sun Messengers. They toured the East Coast, Midwest and Deep South. T-Bone was awarded a Music City Award for best trombonist. The pair join three other musicians on stage performing great songs by, among others, Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael, Leonard Cohen,

Hank Williams, Duke Elligton, Nat King Cole, Leon Russell and Louis
Jordan.

Bravo! The Music Committee has chosen the 27 acts that will comprise Leelanau UnCaged this year! The schedule will be revealed at Northport's first Music in the Park, which will be Friday, June 26. Be there for the big news.

Leelanau UnCaged got a record 128 applications from musical groups for our September 26 festival! The Music Committee is working hard to choose 27 acts to perform. Musicians will be notified by the end of this month. Thinking ahead? Already up on our website is the app for 2027.
