Three years ago, a simple email sparked a collaboration that has grown into so much more—building programming, awareness, inclusion, understanding, and, most importantly, community.

A “yes” from Kerry, North Branford’s Director of Parks & Recreation, turned into a whole team of ideas, planning, and facilitating inclusive and sensory-friendly events and resources alongside Beyond the Horizon. 🌤️

What started as one email has become a partnership I am incredibly grateful for. Thank you to these amazing ladies—Kerry, Sarah, Jess, Mar, and Kathy—for your collaboration, dedication, and most importantly, your friendship. 💛

So grateful for all we have created together and excited for what’s ahead. Stay tuned for some exciting programming coming your way! ✨

We were able to raise three monarch butterflies this year, thanks to our Director, Kerry Haynes, whose mom brought us caterpillars! Say hello to Justine, Marty, and Milkweed, named by our Summer REC Crew campers! We can’t wait to raise more next year!

On Thursdays we play BINGO! at the Senior Center and have a whole lot of fun doing it! We love to see these smiling faces every week!

Summer REC Crew-week 9! Oh, wait, summer camp is over but some items were left behind! Are you missing a water bottle, beach towel, or shirt? We may still have it at STW Community Center! Please take a look and let us know if you recognize something that may be yours.

Summer REC Crew week 8 was full of summer camp fun! We had the best sprinkler thanks to the NBFD, a field day at North Farms Park, martial arts with Tom from Forge, games, parties, Campardy & Italian ice to end the week. We hope your kids had as much fun as we did this summer! A special thank you goes out to our talented, patient, energetic camp counselors for making this summer so much fun!
