One of my favorite ways to play with Polaroid is by immediately breaking the film backs and soaking or washing them in ocean water. Sometimes I will lift part of the image out of the frame, other times I lift the whole thing. But I love this effect of a partial lift, where the image is affected by the salt and waves but not completely lost. I think of how the sea has affected me over the course of my life, and how my image has transformed (for the better) because of it ✨

part two! my film soaked for about a day, then sat in rice to dry out for a full week. on my way to drop the rolls off at the post office now, part three will reveal the scans! ✨
