From the vibrant musical landscapes of the Americas to timeless expressions of faith and gratitude, Sacred Echoes: Songs of Healing and Hope traces a journey of resilience, remembrance, and spiritual renewal across five centuries. Clarice Assad’s Canções da América opens the program with a colorful celebration of
the diverse voices, rhythms, and traditions that shape the Americas. William Byrd’s luminous Ave Verum Corpus follows as a moment of quiet contemplation, its radiant
simplicity offering a profound expression of devotion. At the heart of the program is Ludwig van Beethoven’s transcendent Heiliger Dankgesang from his String Quartet in A minor, Op. 132, composed in thanksgiving after recovering from serious illness. One of
the deepest personal movements in the chamber music repertoire, it reflects both physical healing and spiritual transformation. The journey culminates in Osvaldo
Golijov’s Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind, featuring guest clarinetist Aileen Razey, a mesmerizing work that draws upon Jewish mysticism, klezmer traditions, and
ecstatic improvisation to evoke visions of memory, longing, and hope. Together, these works reveal music as a universal language of healing—bridging
cultures, centuries, and spiritual traditions while affirming our shared capacity for compassion, gratitude, and renewal.
