💜 Confidence is the biggest and most important thing you're child will gain at Just Dance Academy 💜

There is something so cool that happens in a dance studio, and if you have been around this life long enough, you have seen it many times.

A child walks in for the first time holding onto their parent with that look that says, “You are staying, right?” They are not sure about the teacher. They are not sure about the room. They are not sure about the other kids. And they are definitely not sure that this whole dance thing was a good idea.

So we take our time. We smile. We encourage. We do not rush it because we know that, for some children, just walking into the studio is already a really big deal.

And then, little by little, something changes.

The child who once cried at the door starts walking in on their own. They know where to put their dance bag. They walk in looking for the teacher’s smile instead of looking back for the parent. They find their friends. They start telling the parent what they learned instead of asking if they have to go.

And then one day, that same child walks into the studio like they own the place.

The parent is hoping for a hug or a wave, and the child is already halfway to class like, “I’ve got this.”

How cool is that!

That is the kind of growth we should never take for granted. It may look small to someone else, but to that child, walking in without hesitation is a really big deal.

And to the parent watching it happen, it is huge.

Because confidence does not always arrive with a big announcement. Sometimes it shows up in a child who lets go of a parent’s hand. Sometimes it shows up in a child who walks in looking for the teacher. Sometimes it shows up in a child who stands a little taller because they know they belong.

That is why dance matters.

We are not only teaching children to move.

We are helping them become brave.

And that is a pretty amazing part of the journey. Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey--Miss Nicole 💕

💜Exactly what Just Dance Academy is all about! A place for everyone to to belong 💜

Sometimes a parent signs their child up for dance because they are picturing a once-a-week dance lesson and maybe a tutu at the end of the year. They want their child to move, make friends, gain confidence, or have something that belongs to them.

And then something happens that the parent did not expect.

The studio becomes part of their life too.

They find themselves sitting in the lobby next to another parent who understands the rush from school to class. They start appreciating the other children. They cheer for dancers who are not their own. They begin to understand the teacher’s heart and the vibe of a place that slowly starts to feel familiar.

And somewhere along the journey, it is not just the child who found a place to belong.

The parent did too.

That is one of the coolest things about a dance studio. It is not only a place where children learn steps. It becomes a community. A place where families meet, friendships form, people support each other, and children grow up surrounded by adults who become part of their extended family.

So to the parents who walked through the door thinking this was just going to be a class for your child, thank you for becoming part of the journey.

You matter to the culture of the studio.

Your kindness matters.

Your encouragement matters.

The way you care for every child matters.

Because when a dance studio is at its best, it does more than teach children.

It brings people together. How cool is that?! Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey--Miss Nicole 💕

💜This what Just Dance Academy is all about💜

The Secret Is the Child-Centered Studio

Every child matters.

Not just the child with the highest jump, the cleanest turns, or the trophy on the shelf.

The brand-new baby walking into the studio for the first time matters.

The child who learns slowly matters.

The once-a-week dancer matters.

The advanced dancer matters.

The child with learning differences matters.

The child who is a hard time focusing matters.

The child who needs a little more patience, a little more time, a little more understanding, and maybe a little move love, matters.

And here is what I believe with all my heart.

The most successful dance studios are not built only around the children who become the strongest technical dancers. Those students are important. They inspire us. They challenge us. They help us grow as teachers.

But if we build the whole school around only them, we miss the real oppurtunity.

The real oppurtunity is learning how to teach every child who walks through our doors.

That is where the magic is.

That is where the business grows.

That is where the community is built.

That is where the trust happens.

A child-centered studio does not lower the standard. It raises the purpose.

It asks us to become better teachers, better communicators, better leaders, and better humans.

It asks us to look beyond the talent and see the child.

Because when families feel that their child is seen, valued, respected, and loved, they stay.

They tell other people.

They believe in the studio.

They become part of the family.

The secret to success is not just great choreography, beautiful technique, or full classes.

The secret is creating a place where every children feels like they belong.

That is the child-centered studio.

And I believe it is the future of dance education.

Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey--Miss Nicole 💕

The studio lobby is a classroom too.

Children are learning before they ever step into class.

They are listening.

They are watching.

They are taking it all in.

They hear how adults talk about the teacher.

They hear how adults talk about the child who got the solo, the spot, the part, or the opportunity.

They hear how we respond when something does not go our way.

They hear whether we celebrate other children or compare them.

They hear whether we respect the journey or only talk about the results.

And whether we realize it or not, they are learning from all of it.

A dance studio is not only built by the classes we teach.

It is built by the culture we create in the hallways, the dressing rooms, the parking lot, and yes, the lobby.

Because children are always learning.

They learn kindness when they hear kindness.

They learn respect when they see respect.

They learn confidence when the adults around them make every child feel like they belong.

How cool is that!

A dance studio can teach so much more than steps.

It can teach character.

It can teach community.

It can teach children how to cheer for someone else and still believe in themselves.

And maybe that is one of the greatest parts of the journey.

Not just becoming a better dancer.

Becoming a better human being along the way.

Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey-- Miss Nicole 💕

To the dance parent with a dance bag in the backseat of your car:

There will come a day when that bag will not be there anymore.

No bobby pins scattered on the floor.

No water bottle rolling around every time you make a turn.

No asking, “Do you have your shoes?” as you pull out of the driveway.

Right now, that bag may feel like one more thing in an already busy day.

One more class.

One more rehearsal.

One more costume.

One more place you need to drive.

And let’s be honest, you may not miss the smell coming from that bag.

But someday, you may miss what it meant.

Because that dance bag is carrying far more than shoes and tights.

It is carrying the art they love, friends they are growing up with, teachers who believe in them, confidence they are building, and a piece of their childhood.

Your child is not simply going to dance class.

They are finding a place to belong.

They are growing up, one dance class at a time.

How cool is that!

So in the middle of the rushing, take a moment to appreciate that bag.

It will not be in your backseat forever.

And one day, you just may wish it were.

Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey--Miss Nicole 💕

💚Regular Dance classes are for any child and at Just Dance Academy your child will be treated the same as a dancer that is there multiple days a week or just one day a week, because every child deserves to be treated the same. 💚

Please do not underestimate the child who takes one dance class a week.

They may not want to compete.

They may not be asking for more classes.

They may simply love coming to dance.

And that should be enough.

That child deserves an outstanding teacher.

They deserve attention, encouragement, and choreography that makes them feel proud.

Because that one class may be the brightest part of their week.

It may be where they find confidence.

Where they find friends.

Where they learn to focus, work hard, and believe in themselves.

No, they may not become professional dancers.

Most children will not.

But they may become stronger, happier, more confident people because dance was part of their childhood.

Dance does not only belong to the children who want to make it their whole life.

It belongs to the child who simply loves being there.

That child is not “just recreational.”

That child is a dancer.

Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey--Miss Nicole 💕

I read this and it is 100% true when it comes to being a dance teacher! I loved it so much I had to share!

NOW HIRING: DANCE TEACHER

Must be able to count to eight in ways that do not appear to follow the laws of mathematics.

Must know that “from the top” does not always mean from the top, and “one more time” has never actually meant one more time.

Must be able to teach technique, inspire confidence, tie shoes, fix ponytails, remember birthdays, locate missing water bottles, and answer questions that have nothing to do with dance.

Must understand that a five-year-old may need a bathroom break the second class begins, a twelve-year-old may need encouragement more than correction, and a teenager may need someone to believe in them before they believe in themselves.

Must be able to say, “That was better,” while knowing it is going to take at least fourteen more times.

Must celebrate the child who nails the turn and the child who finally walks into class without holding onto their parent’s leg.

Must have patience, energy, creativity, kindness, high standards, a sense of humor, and the ability to keep going even when the Bluetooth speaker has decided not to.

Payoff includes hugs, handwritten notes, inside jokes, proud parents, tired feet, lifelong memories, and the occasional moment when a child looks at you and says, “I want to be a dance teacher just like you.”

It is not an easy job.

It is one of the best jobs in the world.

To every dance teacher showing up for children week after week, you are doing more than teaching dance.

You are becoming part of who they grow up to be. Have an awesome day and enjoy the journey-- ✌💕
