For the players who just can’t get enough soccer — and the families ready to embrace the beautiful chaos of a bigger commitment — local club tryouts are coming up.

We’re lucky to have several nonprofit soccer clubs in our area offering competitive team opportunities for kids who want more training, more games, more challenge, and yes, probably more laundry.

In no particular order, here are three local options to check out:

What a Year, Thank You. -

A full, loud, occasionally cinnamon-covered year of games, pickups, tournaments, snacks, friendships, missed shin guards, last-minute roster questions, and kids somehow surviving on one bag of chips and pure adrenaline.

Hi.

It’s us.

The water bottles. The sweatshirts. The one lonely cleat. The jacket that has seen things. The assorted garments and mystery items currently living in Allsport’s Lost & Found like some kind of chaotic textile commune.

We’re writing because Allsport closes today, and frankly, we’d prefer not to spend our summer in a donation bin wondering how it all ended like this.

Here’s the deal:

If you want us back, come get us tonight before 10:00 PM.

You can also come by this weekend.

If we are still sitting here on Monday, we’re being donated and moving on to our next chapter. New family. New closet. New emotional support role.

We understand life is busy. Kids are feral. Everyone is tired. But some of you have left behind enough water bottles to hydrate a small village, and a few of these sweatshirts have been here long enough to start paying rent.

We’re including some photos so you can identify your belongings without having to rely on memory, which, based on recent evidence, may not be your strongest system.

Please come claim your stuff.

Or don’t.

But if you see your child next month drinking from a random old pickle jar because their 14th “favorite water bottle” got donated, that’s between you and fate.
