We hope you will join us for an open session, a night of playing, connecting, and witnessing. All who are interested are welcome! A participant shares moments from their life. Then other participants "play back” the emotional essence of what is shared — in movement, sound, music, and words. Playback Theatre NOW (PTN) essential question is: Where are you in your evolution right now? We welcome you
to have all parts of yourself (inner voices/characters/qualities) expressed — as well as the relationships, archetypal forces, and the larger societal issues that affect you. How can we be authentic on a deep level? To witness your and others' stories played back is deeply moving—as is being a "player" in other participant's stories. There are many levels of engagement; you can participate as much as you want or don’t want. Playback Theatre is practiced in 70 countries. PTN is committed to serving diverse populations and addressing a variety of issues. Come and join us in this powerful technique to heal ourselves and others through empathetic enactment! These open sessions are open to the community. Our intention is to find committed members to form a troupe who want to build skill and depth, to offer these community open sessions, and to do performances for different populations to create connection and social change. If you are interested in being part of the committed troupe, let us know. Patrick Crowley leads Playback Theatre NOW! It was founded by Patrick, Sky Halm, and Gineen Cooper in 2019. Patrick has practiced theatre improv since 1986, including Playback Theatre, Action Theater, Psychodrama, Zany Angel Dance Theatre, and Insight Improvisation. Patrick first began practicing Playback Theatre regularly in 1987 and employed Playback Theatre in an expressive arts weekend, called the Longdance, that he co-led 4 times a year for over a decade. He also worked with Boston’s True Story Theater Playback Theatre troupe. He is also a dance improviser, bodyworker, yoga teacher, and somatic educator.
