This piece has such a cool story behind it.

Stan came to me with a painting he had commissioned from a Moroccan artist, rooted in his faith and the symbolism of anointing.

The turtle dove, horn, oil and gold all had meaning already. My job was to take that artwork and figure out how to make it work with the shape and movement of his shoulder.

I really loved getting to translate one piece of art into another while still keeping the heart of the original idea.

Thank you for trusting me with this one, Stan.

Koi + lotus from Fort Wayne Tattoo Fest!

This project took almost 6 hours of tattooing and Colten sat like an absolute rock through the whole thing.

We entered this piece into competition and sadly didn’t place this time, but I’m still really proud of what we created. Being surrounded by so many talented artists always leaves me motivated to keep learning and pushing myself.

You’ll also see a little healed peek at the wolf we previously did on his inner arm. We’re slowly building this entire sleeve around Colten’s family Viking and Japanese heritage, and I’ve loved figuring out how to bring those two sides together in one cohesive project.

And we’re definitely not finished yet. Eventually we’ll be adding some pops of color throughout the sleeve, so I’m really excited to see the full vision come together.

Between almost 6 hours of tattooing, the wrestlers, and the fire convention playlist, this was a pretty solid day.

Thank you for the trust and for sitting like a rock, Colten. Stay tuned for the finished sleeve!

Juan wanted something inspired by his four years in nursing, but not the typical medical tattoo.

We ended up combining a plague doctor with a skeletal nurse for this upper arm piece, and I really love how unique it feels to him.

Most of it was done with a 3RL and stipple shading, with a little mag work for the smoke and glove texture.

We may keep building this into a sleeve, so stay tuned for what we add next.

Give us some ideas for what to add next!

Fort Wayne Tattoo Fest dump.

Three days, three tattoos, one appointment each day, and a whole lot of really good art.

I went into this weekend wanting to compete and push myself a little. I didn’t end up placing this time, but I’m really happy with the pieces I created and honestly left feeling even more motivated to keep working at it.

Our studio still had A LOT to celebrate. Madacyne took 1st in Medium Black & Grey AND Tattoo of the Day, and we took home Best Booth! So proud of her, Syreeta, Julia, and everyone for showing up and doing their thing this weekend.

One of my favorite parts of conventions is getting to be surrounded by so much talent. You leave with inspiration, new connections, things you want to work on, and approximately 700 new ideas.

Thank you to my clients for trusting me and sitting through convention days with me, and to our friends, family, and everyone who stopped by the booth to support us.

Really good weekend. Really cool art. Feeling inspired and ready to keep at it.

Jokes aside, life is very full right now.

I’m incredibly grateful to be tattooing as much as I am. I get to create, learn, grow, and connect with people for a living, which is still pretty wild when I think about it.

But when I’m not in the studio, I’m usually home with my three girls, trying to be present, keep up with family life, take care of myself, spend time with my husband, and generally pretend I have some idea what I’m doing.

So yes, sometimes I take too long to text back. I forget to post tattoos I was genuinely SO excited about. I open a message, respond to it entirely in my head, and realize three days later that apparently that does not count.

I’m still figuring out how to balance artist, business owner, wife, mom, and regular human without dropping at least one ball.

And part of figuring that out means making some changes.

My weekday tattoo hours are officially shifting to daytime so I can work while my girls are at school and have more of my evenings back with my family.

It’s a change, and I know it’ll take a little adjusting, but I’m really excited about what this next season could look like.

If you’re already booked with me during a weekday evening, keep an eye on your messages. I’ll be reaching out and working through those appointments with everyone.

I don’t think I’ll ever have the whole “balance” thing figured out, but I’m really grateful these are the things filling my life.

Lots of tattoos. Lots of family. Lots of figuring it out as I go.

Anyway, here’s some life + tattoos lately because apparently I’ve been much better at living it than posting it.
