September 2017

Great Lakes Youth Ballet Friends,

It is bitter sweet that we announce the closing of Great Lakes Youth Ballet Company. Since its inception, the mission of Great Lakes Youth Ballet, a 501(c)(3) non-profit youth ballet company, has been to provide excellence in dance education. Our mission provided young dancers eager to learn and grow, with discipline and respect. Through the art of dance we have been providing meaningful cultural opportunities for our community for almost 15 years.

We would like to thank all of our students, parents, artistic directors and families for enriching our lives over the years. The performances, community service and love for the arts have made us so proud to be a member of the Great Lakes Youth Ballet family. May the love of the arts always stay with you. Please stay in touch. The GLYB page with remain active so former members, families and friends can keep in touch.

I would personally like to take the opportunity to thank all past and current board members for their dedication, time and energy in supporting GLYB Company over the years in our company. Thanks to past board member Christine Polisena for many years of support and hard work to benefit all our students. Thank you to current board member Marie Hoffart and administrative assistant Marci Hoffman for making sure our students and staff needs were always a priority.

Lastly, thanks to Donna Bonvissuto, who was not only a dedicated board member, but also my dedicated friend over these many years. Her passion and heart always guided us to make sure we stay focused on what is good for our students. Her tireless dedication was appreciated by everyone. As the President of Great Lakes Youth Ballet Company I want to thank Donna for helping me and others to reach our mission and goals each and every year.

In closing, Great Lakes Youth Ballet Company will always be a family, please keep in touch. It is my hope and wish that all of you have continued success and continue to reach for the stars and dream big. You have made a difference in the lives of many and I know that will continue.

Best Wishes,

Joe Nicklos
Great Lakes Youth Ballet Board President

So what is "The Silver Bough"?!?

The Silver Bough is a brand new story ballet being presented this spring. The story is based on a Celtic myth and revolves around a young girl who, on a walk through the forest, stumbles upon a group of fairies. As she is drawn into their world, she must then take a difficult journey (with the help of the enchanted tree branch) to try and save them and their habitat.

AUDITIONS THIS SATURDAY 10 A.M. - NOON
10670 Royalton Rd. N. Royalton OH

CONTEST TIME! Share the image below on your personal or business social media page and be entered to win a $25 tuition credit! Rules: you must have "liked" the DABR page, and you must share the original post from the page before Friday, Jan. 6th, at noon. Tuition credit will be applied to your April balance. (Unless you are only enrolled in adult classes in which case it will be deducted from the total.)

Why? Because what better way to start the new year than to try something new or pick up a hobby you used to enjoy? Ballet class promotes balance, strength, grace, and flexibility. The patterns and musicality work out your brain, and having a group to move with and be accountable to doesn't hurt!

Call or email to find out more about the class or to register! [email protected]
