‘BIG’ changes happening over this way! 🏡☀️
‘Laid low’ on here for quite some time now…as I’ve been making some ‘difficult to make’ decisions for myself. 😢😬
On the heels of much deep thought and consideration…I recently took a ‘leap of faith’ and blocked out the entire calendar for my cabin. This would make room for the possibility of hosting…by a month at a time…’traveling professionals’. ✈️☀️
‘Day 17’ on the ‘NEW’ (to me) platform…”Midori”…from Albuquerque…reached out. Long story short…she is on ‘Day 2’ of her drive to Alaska for a contracted job that she has secured at Eielson AFB. She will be living here…in the cabin…for a year! ☀️🍂🏡❄️🍃
This is not what my dream was when I built. It was what it has been for many years…guests coming and going…while they enjoy ALL that the Interior of Alaska has to offer. ☀️
As MANY know…the struggles have been real…from the very beginning…but I have worked hard…pushed through…and truly believe that this is the best decision for me…moving forward.
This will give me the opportunity to completely focus on my artwork business! 😁 I am…SO excited about this!!! 💃💃💃
I have had a difficult time making the time for my art…while juggling everything else. The intentions have been there but my ‘follow through’…non-existent. 😢
Diving in and starting with a ‘commissioned’ Raven piece this month. (FINALLY!) ✨🐦⬛✨
I have 5 total commissions…on the books already…and am excited to bring the images that have been ‘playing around’ in my head…to life!
The memories. WOW. SO many. Thousands of memories made with my guests…since March 2020 (COVID Month!)...when I first started my vacation rental business. 🥰
Many proposals…weddings…(six…’THIS’ Summer!)...reunions, etc…here…in addition to my nightly guests! ❤️💍
LOVE that I keep in contact with SO many of my guests on social media. 🥰 They’ve become ‘friends’…and some…like ‘family’. ❤️
I Follow many! Some guests got married…had babies…some with new grandbabies…new puppies…graduations…retirements and MORE! 🥰
I’ve truly been blessed by the guests that I have hosted. Hundreds of thank you notes and cards…letters…Christmas cards and wonderful gifts! THANK YOU!!! 🥰 I LOVE spoiling my guests and SO MANY turned that right back around on me…during…and after…their stay. ❤️
I will keep my social media ‘up’ and will be MORE active again now...continuing to share pics of visiting moose...Muskrat...Fox...the Northern Lights, etc.
Taking the year. Enjoy my ‘long-term’ guest…my artwork time and getting out…meeting friends for coffee…lunch, etc. I ‘NEVER’ let myself do that!!! 🤣🧋☕️
I may go back to hosting ‘nightly’. I am not shutting down my site…just blocking out the calendar…for now. ☀️
For anyone interested…Furnished Finders has been AMAZING to work with! One small ‘Annual Fee’. Nothing more.
I am ALL about customer service and left a few platforms (quickly)…for that reason alone. The customer service was not impressive. Furnished Finders customer service has been incredible.
My timing was perfect…as other platforms increased the % that they are having their hosts pay out…I declined putting that increase on my guests. Just couldn’t do it. Big reason for the decision that I’ve made.
One of the deadlines was September 15th. My ‘last’ nightly guest booked and stayed their first night of their stay in the cabin…on the 14th! 😜
