Storycrafter Studio is delighted to announce that Karen M. Bruce will be reading from her poetry book, I Will Write Loudly So You Can Hear Me, this Friday at 7:30 at Storycrafter Studio, 885 Ne 125 St. North Miami. These lovely poems will move everyone, especially those supporting the MeToo movement.

There is a $2 refreshment charge to support Storycrafter Studio, a 501.c3 nonprofit. Our purpose is to bring you fine theater, fine art, and fine poetry like Karen Bruce's.

The story begins in Iboland, West Africa (present-day Edo State, Nigeria) and follows members of an extended family who engage in armed combat with raiders who have been capturing children from their village. Some members
are themselves captured and imprisoned in a barracoon, the facility where captives are prepared for transit by ship to the New World. One of the members is jailed in Barbados, and others are shuttled from their owner’s plantation in Virginia to a house in Philadelphia. From there, they struggle for freedom.
