Tanda was born from a desire to create a cross-cultural project that uses the Argentine tango as a base for physical and emotional well-being, artistic expression, and community interactions. This approach to tango encourages new schools of thought for the tango curious while re-invigorating the tango veteran’s love for the practice through a new lens that pushes for growth and evolution. For people living with chronic inflammatory conditions, staying active can feel like a battle.
A study (citation below) showed that participating in Argentine tango sessions helped patients increase their overall physical activity, not by forcing exercise, but by making movement enjoyable, meaningful, and sustainable.
Tango didn’t push people past their limits. It invited them back into movement.
Sometimes healing doesn’t come from doing more, it comes from doing something you want to return to.
