We’ve recently received several comments and messages asking about ACT’s use of AI. We’re happy to share!

As an arts organization, our work is created by and with artists. As a contemporary arts organization, we also recognize that AI-assisted tools are increasingly part of the platforms our artists and teams use every day.

ACT has a conscious AI policy that guides how we use these tools. We use AI-assisted features for things like spelling, grammar, proofreading, scheduling, marketing, and communications, and within platforms such as Google Workspace, Canva, Photoshop, Wix and iMovie.

AI does not originate ACT’s artistic or creative content. Our ideas, perspectives, and creative direction come from people. We do not use AI to generate original visual or graphic art, photography, or video.

Everything ACT produces and publishes includes the creative input, judgment, and work of real people—often many artists working together. We value that work deeply, and our use of technology is intended to support it, not replace it.

Next season, ACT will produce Jordan Harrison’s "Marjorie Prime", a play that takes on many of the questions surrounding AI, technology, memory, and human connection. We’re excited for the opportunity to have a thoughtful and nuanced conversation about these ideas with our community.

If you have questions or would like more information about ACT’s AI policy, we invite you to send us a DM.
