ACANSA Arts Festival is committed to increasing audience participation in visual and performing arts, promoting the cultural vitality of the south, and generating opportunities for local commerce in Little Rock, North Little Rock and throughout central Arkansas. Long before the state of Arkansas received its name, neighboring tribes referred to the local Quapaw as the "people of the southern place

" or "Acansa" in the Siouan tongue. ACANSA Arts Festival has adopted this name in honor of our commitment to celebrating the uniquely rich cultural vitality of our region.
