Last post of the day.
Once upon a Time, the incredible and I recorded a song together and had an amazing experience working the single as costars of the tour Circa 2003, imagined by the legendary Al Wash, promoter extraordinaire! single.
11 weeks of power, praise, purpose and pretty 🥰 hit stages and churches all over the country six nights a week for 11 weeks straight!
This was the last night of the tour and we ended in Dallas, Texas!
Al wanted to bring women of different genres, but the same faith to one stage!
It was an amazing presentation that also starred Sheila E.
She was our awesome band director and she was radiant perfection!
This was something that had never been done before.
It was groundbreaking and got a lot of great media attention but it also drew vast criticism among religious communities.
We had anointed praise, incredible worship, and some of the best singing you’ve ever heard in your life on the inside while people walked with picket signs outside of the venues depicting the non-gospel artist as harlots with scarlet letters on our foreheads and demons not worthy to take the stage or minister.
It was one of the hardest times of my career, and I watched as Sheila battle with that as well. Thank youYolanda Adams, Al Wash and also every woman on that took the stage!
For 11 weeks they held Sheila and me down like true sisters, and they also held us up in prayer!
We finished the tour victoriously, fortified, and edified!
It wasn’t easy but I learned something about Sheila and I learned something about myself.
I didn’t know my own strength and
We are
In a world where women are constantly pitted against each other, there are still some of us out there who believe in true sisterhood, and I’ve been blessed to know that sisterhood across the many many phases of my career.
Thank you whose vision it was to put Yolanda and me in the studio together! Legendary, groundbreaking and history making!
Another 🦋💜🦋 moment!
I am entering the Master Teacher phase of my life! Join me if you dare…
