Still Here has been two years in the making.

What began as a multidisciplinary movement centering Black women’s experiences with HIV/AIDS first came to life as an interactive exhibit and immersive live performance in Los Angeles.

In this next chapter, Still Here Magazine, led by Editor-in-Chief Jamilah Lemieux, uses first-person testimonies, essays, interviews, cultural criticism, poetry, and more to deepen the conversation and invite continued learning and action.

Thank you and for this thoughtful coverage!

On National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, we honor the lives and stories of Black women impacted by HIV.

Still Here is our response to the disparities Black women continue to face because of systemic inequities, access to healthcare, and stigma.

The magazine is a collection of essays, interviews, and art that center the lived experiences of this community. This work is a call to action for us to create sustained community dialogue and change.
