While sharing some fun DIY tips from Rust-Oleum on Real Milwaukee this week, I also brought back one of my favorite college freshman gift ideas! 🎉
Years ago I made a similar poster, but I think this pillow might be even better. 😄 There’s nothing like rolling over after a long day of “classes” to a gentle reminder from Mom. avani there’s one coming your way!!

Freshman dorm prep has officially become my full-time job. 😂
My daughter and her roommates chose a 1960s retro theme for their shared bathroom, so I designed custom vintage-inspired beauty ads using each girl’s name as the “brand” and an illustrated model inspired by her likeness (without using their actual faces).
Next up: retro frames, pink ribbon, and a gallery wall. It’s probably a little over the top... but that’s kind of my specialty. 🎀

Feeling incredibly grateful this week. Our Studio Team was recognized as Team of the Year, and it’s such an honor to be part of this group.

Every day I get to work alongside some of the most talented, hardworking, creative people I know. We challenge each other, support each other, and somehow always manage to pull off what feels impossible.

These are the women on our crew. All at doing jobs that have traditionally been male-dominated, proving every day that talent, grit, and teamwork are what matter.

And because we apparently spend a lot of time together... look at our wardrobe. 😂 No group text. No dress code. No planning whatsoever. We all just showed up looking like a coordinated color palette. I’d say that’s further proof we work pretty well together.

I’m proud of this team, thankful for the people I get to create with every day, and honored to celebrate this recognition together.

“Committed” • 9x7 watercolor and pencil

This piece was inspired by the melancholy of “American Gothic.” It’s not my usual style or color palette, but that’s art. It’s always evolving, and there are no rules.

Over the past month, this has been my evening meditation. Outside of my commissioned work, I found myself returning to it night after night, slowly adding details and layers while working through feelings of sadness, loss, and nostalgia.

Art has a way of helping us sit with emotions that don’t always have words. This painting became a quiet place to put some of mine.

A grad cake request for my favorite little lady ❤️ .dare
This naked cake came together with layers of pistachio ganache and orange marmalade, finished with vanilla buttercream, macarons, and handmade gumpaste flowers.
I haven’t had the chance to bake something purely for fun in a while, and I forgot how much I love the process. Also… this flavor combination turned out so delicious. 🌸🍰
