This was really fun for me!! My three characters (Hazel, Arael, and here, Thalia) are from a book I’m writing and they all come from unique cultures. So I wanted to take a crack at Thalia’s culture’s traditional dress! It’s a hybrid of a lot of real world inspiration and some uniquely fantastical elements!
She’s what’s called a Guardian, which means she’s a sort of protector/leader of her town’s knights, so I thought it would be cool to draw something around the ceremony where she received that title.
I hope you guys like it, I don’t think I’ve ever had so many different references for one drawing!

Genuinely though, really excited about her character. She’s gonna be SUCH a different antagonist than I’m used to writing and I look forward to the challenge!
