is a fully professional orchestra dedicated to bringing music of a popular nature to the Low Country and is supported by private and public donations and subscription sales. As with all the arts, we depend on private donations to stay vital, to develop educational programs and to enrich the culture of the North Charleston region. We have long range plans to impact the lives of our citizens and uplift those in need through music programming and programs.

What a perfect way to close out the Jazz in the Park season! 🎷✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us Tuesday evening for the final Jazz in the Park of the season at Riverfront Park, featuring Charleston’s own Kevin Patton, along with special guest student performers Jenni Cardena Ramirez and Malachi Taylor. From the incredible live music to the beautiful setting under the oaks, it was the perfect night filled with community, connection, and jazz.

Tonight is the night! 🎷✨ Join us for the final Jazz in the Park of the season featuring Charleston’s own Kevin Patton at Riverfront Park from 6–8 PM. This event is free and open to the public.

Kevin Patton is an acclaimed composer, saxophonist, educator, and member of the Charleston Jazz Orchestra whose performances have taken him across the country and onto stages with some of jazz’s biggest names. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, friends, and family for one last unforgettable evening of live music under the oaks.

Join us on June 9 for the final Jazz in the Park of the season featuring Charleston’s own Kevin Patton! 🎷✨

A composer, saxophonist, educator, and entrepreneur, Kevin Patton has spent the past two decades performing across the country in concert halls, festivals, churches, and alongside some of jazz’s biggest names. A College of Charleston graduate and member of the Charleston Jazz Orchestra since 2016, Kevin’s career has included performances at Piccolo Spoleto, Savannah Black Heritage Festival, The Colour of Music Festival, and even a feature on Netflix’s Outer Banks.

Known for blending Gospel and Jazz influences through his original compositions, Kevin continues to make an impact both on stage and in the community as an arts educator and member of the Charleston Jazz Board of Directors. Earlier this year, his orchestral composition Reflections debuted with the North Charleston POPS Orchestra.

Roman Pekar is a highly experienced bassist with a diverse musical background, having performed with renowned orchestras including the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and Hilton Head Symphony. His career spans classical, jazz, and theater performances, with appearances at major festivals like Spoleto and Piccolo Spoleto, as well as tours across Europe, the U.S., and Asia.

From productions like Wicked and Mary Poppins to performances with high-profile artists, Roman brings incredible talent and experience to the stage — and we’re excited to welcome him back to Riverfront Park for a beautiful evening under the oaks.
