We are sad to share that Studio Union has lost a beloved one of our community.
Equal parts F-bomb chum and father figure that you wanted to make proud, Sam Woodward has been one of our ceramic artists for many years.
He had a tender heart and was beloved by us and our children. With a curious mind, he was constantly learning about his ceramics practice that was skilled and elegant. He also dealt out wisdom from his most-interesting-man-alive experiences. Despite any deadline, you learned to stop and lap up whatever advice he was giving.

Rest in peace and ‘Be Good’, Sweet Sam. We hope you catch that perfect pot in your next adventure.

AN ART SALE NOT TO BE MISSED!

Join us and Celia Cerasoli, chef and friend in clay, as she offers artist Ugo Tesoriere’s skilled and stunning collection of works.
Ugo and Celia met through her involvement with Mepkin Abbey and her travels with the monks to Rome. They became fast friends and in the years after his passing, Celia has been a steward of this collection and is ready to honor Ugo’s wish for his art to be in the public’s hands.

Offering some peeks here of coming works for our (re)UNION exhibit. We are loading kilns, plotting walls and getting very excited about our coming show NEXT FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7 OPENING at Noble Studios in the Navy Yard.

We have our artful Eyeware 4 Week Frame Making Workshop kicking back off this month! Joe Venzie leads students in designing and making their own glasses. He’s an optician as well as a lunetier, so you can have fully functional pieces with class completion.

Back to school day here in Charleston! Classes come back for Studio Union next week!! We have a robust line up and spots are still available in Beth Northcut Williams Mixed Levels Oil Painting(welcoming all) and Susan Gregory’s Intermediate Wheel . Susan says if you have throwing skills and are ready to work on consistency and design ideas, you are ready for this class. Don’t let the word ‘Intermediate’ spook you 😊
