Thanks to all who came out to hear the Grace Fall Band last Saturday at Bennington Theater. One of the best BMS shows to date due in part to the energy and spirit of Grace and her fellow band mates. Thanks also to Sam Clement and Matthew Steckler for jumpin in! Here's a few pics of the night from Mark Schiffner and a comment by audience member and local artist/store owner Vance Chatel.

"So I wanted to circle back to say a couple things about this show. Honestly I was blown away. I’m not a music critic but I felt like I was witnessing a beautiful young musical genius.
Grace Fall has a soulful voice and confidence in her instrument. Sophisticated original songs.
I had a sense of “beyond her years”, meaning her sound, her compositions, her presence and her confidence just seemed so damn mature. Polished. Easy.
Then there was the relationship with her and her band. Like a well oiled machine she guided the nine piece band with a slight nod of her head or she’d gaze at a player and step aside for a guitar solo or a sax excursion. With ease she guided the playlist. The relationship between Grace and her musicians is enchanted.
Bluesy, jazzy. I’m not a music critic but one thing is certain, some music is so damn sultry and sexy that you just have to breath deep and let it wash over you.
Thanks to Matthew Perry Vermont Arts Exchange for putting this show together."

VAE brings back Boston based beHeard.World as they perform this Sat. May 30th at 7:30pm on stage at the Bennington Bennington Theater. The Boston Globe says “One of the 10 not-to-be-missed dance performances". "Belonging and Othering" is a collaborative of nine dancers/choreographers, three poets and two filmmakers who have created a piece where “belonging” and “othering” intersect, opening a window into underlying parts of tribalism and bias that keep us divided. The multi-media performance piece will screen seven local storytellers who have experienced being “othered.” The storytellers will focus on racism, gender bias, immigration prejudice and LGBTQ issues. They include an African American man, a trans man, a gay man, Black woman and an Asian immigrant—all who have firsthand experience with these challenges.
"Hop, Twist and Turn, But Look Super Cool”.
