"One thing that JazzClubsNW has done to help me is grow me as a person." Ben's first encounter with JazzclubsNW was in the summer of 8th grade, when he participated in a jazz camp hosted by the organization. It was there that he learned about the foundations of different jazz styles and how to apply them during the years to come. "I learned who I was as a musician, I learned that I needed to grow a whole lot, and most importantly, I learned where I wanted to go with my whole jazz experience and music experience in general"
Now, Ben attends Northwestern University, where he studies mechanical engineering and jazz. "Thank you to all of JazzClubsNW for making me who I am as a person and providing me with this great opportunity to learn and grow."
As a student who spent his early music career working with JazzClubsNW, Ben is a perfect example of our mission to leave a lasting impact on young musicians pursuing jazz and keeping the art form alive. Thank you Ben, and all of the students who have worked so hard here at JazzClubsNW.
