Phoenix Fire Entertainment

Phoenix Fire Entertainment Phoenix Fire Entertainment is still in its Fledgling stages. I started this company originally as a print and design studio. Popbox is moving fast.

That is of course until the bug bit me again. In late 2010 I revamped our business model with a hope and a prayer and the support of my wife and Sr Editor, Jess Swearingen. I began assembling a team of writers, artists, colorists, cartoonist and I even found a talented clay render-er. I saw something in each of these individuals that shined and they took an even bigger risk by coming on board with

me. We are still Phoenix Fire Studios, But Phoenix Fire Entertainment will be where the action comes to fruit. By end of year we should see the first of our line ups hitting the stands. We would do an injustice to not mention Clayton Neal's Popbox Entertainment. Popbox is what we would like to call a brother company, or sibling company. You see in the Indy world you will never make it on your own. But what makes us different than mainstream comics is simple we are a family and we stick together. With multiple books already nearing completion Claytons years of blood sweat and tears will be coming to fruit in the very near future and dont be surprised when we do cross overs that blow your mind. His work will feature artists such as Nik Poliwko, and Lawrence K Leeson. Stick around..you wont be disappointed

Test Cover for the upcoming RPG City in Darkness

Written by Dave Michael

I admit that after redrawing this piece three times I was on the verge of a complete rage. Creator and Writer Dave Michael had sent me an idea he had for the cover and each time I laid pencil to board I felt that I was missing the mark on his vision. Finally one night in a moment of complete sleep deprivation and a couple pots of coffee my pencils began to work on their own. It was like I was on auto pilot and the lines flowed.

When the final line was laid down I felt it, And Dave approved it. I went about the rest of the day inking the 11x17 Canson board then I began the process of finding a colorist that could capture a now shared vision between Dave and myself. The search was frustrating until I realized the best man for the job was standing right in my face. Phoenix Fire Entertainments own Celso Ricardo, artist for the upcoming Prelude to a Nightmare series was contacted and after a few discussions he was on board. This morning I received the completed colors and Even though I have only been sent a picture versus the hi res scans I had to share this. So I added a boarder and just laid out a basic cover.

I present to you City In Darkness.

We know that this past month, we have been playing it pretty close to the vest. Well, now it is time to show our cards to all of you.

We know that Indie Attack is going to be something special and very unique. This is no big secret. Some of you have asked if this is going to be just a "one time fling" of a deal. What we are saying right now is that you are all standing on the launching pad...Indie Attack #0!

This will be a preview series, not just one book. However, in order for it to truly be a "preview" of talent as well as stories, not all will be featured in issue #1 or 2 etc..

This is how this series is going to work:

When we blast this series off, we will also be launching a reader's poll on the new Indie Galaxy website. Each story will be titled and numbered, you the reader will then get an opportunity to vote for whom they would like to see again. The winning team WILL BE COMPENSATED, and be invited to come back for the next issue along with a few others that we have already selected. We will also have a second and third place, and those teams will be rewarded as well.

This issue, issue #0, will be free to dealers , limit of 1 per retail store. The only charge will be for those who wish to order additional copies. Starting with issue #1, the cover price will be $4.99, and that covers the cost of printing and distribution,.

We are also working on injecting it into the digital media.

DO you have a story? Do you have a team in place?
If you are interested you can email your story synopsis to [email protected].
Not all stories will be accepted.
Submission guidelines are as follows:
Story must be no more than 4 pages in length.
This book is all ages , that does not mean that it has to be unicorns and pixies.
What we consider all ages is simple.
1) No nudity what do ever.
2) Violence is a given in a Graphic Anthology. We simply ask that you don’t attempt, for instance, to portray s school yard with deceased children covering the ground.
3) Language. We Ask that you make an attempt at keeping this to a minimum. No “F” bombs. No “GD’s” if a line is crossed we will let you know.
4) Your team must be able to complete 4 pages from script to final letters in a timely manner. We ask no more than 15 days from your confirmation of inclusion in the next issue.
That’s it. Pretty simple.
Once you are locked in you will be asked to sign a collaborator contract as well as a non-disclosure contract.

Creator owns and retains all rights and copyrights to their respective characters and stories.
