🎓SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Joy Bristol ⭐
Joy began her dance journey at age 3 at BDT — and by age 8, she found her home at Studio North. Over 12 years of training, she has grown into exactly the kind of dancer and person this studio is so proud of.
A graduate of Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter High School, Joy will be heading to Drexel University to study Sociology with a minor in Dance Studies. The dance world doesn't have to miss out on her after all. 🎓
🩰 STYLES: Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Pointe
💎 FIRST SNDA RECITAL: The Enchanted Jewelry Box — she was an Opal and Citrine
🎬 FAVORITE RECITAL Lights, Camera, Dance — with memories of Flashdance and Harry Potter that still stick with her
💜 FAVORITE MEMORY: Joining Competition Team, Prelude, and Finale and realizing she had gained a whole new family at Studio North
On why she dances: "Dance gives me a sense of freedom. It's something I look forward to working hard in and seeing the progress I make."
On choosing a favorite style: "It's difficult to pick a favorite because each style allows me to express something different."
To the younger dancers, Joy says: "It is not always easy. Sometimes you may feel like you aren't progressing — but continue to work hard and dedicate yourself, and the growth will come. And point your toes and have fun!"
Joy, watching you become a deeper part of this community has been one of the great joys of this season. We can't wait to see what you do next. 💫
