In Book 2, Lytle Shaw conducts an investigation of ’s building for the French Communist Party’s (PCF) --central committee in Paris.

Author/Artist Ben Passmore will be in conversation with Terence Washington,  guest-curator of 's Zora J Murff: RACE/HUSTLE exhibition this Thursday in the R&D.

We'll be discussing Passmore's Eisner AND Ignatz Award-winning graphic novel Black Arms to Hold You Up (Pantheon)--a boisterous, darkly funny, and sobering march through Black militant history.  It’s the summer of 2020, and downtown Philly is in flames. “You’re not out in the streets with everyone else?” Ronnie asks his ambivalent son, Ben, shambling in with arms full of used books: the works of Malcom X, Robert F. Williams, Assata and Sanyika Shakur, among others. “Black liberation is your fight, too.”

Tickets are officially on sale to catch acclaimed New Yorker cartoonists and Jason Adam Katzenstein Katzenstein in conversation about their new book, "The Two Saddest Kitchens: A Comics Conversation" on October 17 in MASS MoCA's Hunter Center!

In "The Two Saddest Kitchens,"the kitchen is the "heart of the home," or at least it's supposed to be. The book pulls back the curtain on our hilarious, all-too-relatable kitchen realities, in a work in which "everyone not named Martha Stewart will recognize themselves" according to Ruth Reichl.

PRE-ORDER ALERT: Two new Son Lux limited edition signed vinyl records are available for pre-order thru MASS MoCA’s Research & Development Store. Out Into, Son Lux’s ninth full-length studio album on ryan lott and a single sided 12” Out Into Us (Slow Down)--a total rework of the title track released by MASS MoCA Records (on pink vinyl).

The band will be on hand to sign your copies following their performance at MASS MoCA on Saturday, September, 12.  Choose PICK-UP at check-out to reserve your copy at the post-performance signing/reception. Can’t make it? Reserve your signed copy and we’ll ship it to you the week of 9/14/26.
