This charming operetta has something for everyone: beautiful, handmade costumes, witty dialogue, gorgeous singing, and expertly crafted sets and props.

The show begins at 7:30 PM - a full hour earlier than in previous years - so that audiences can take full advantage of Golden Hour in the Gardens. Patrons may enjoy a well-stocked and excellently staffed full bar just steps away in the Rose Garden, which is dedicated exclusively to our performance and will be open both before the show begins and again at intermission.

Further, tickets include all-day access to Longwood's full campus! This year's weather forecast is looking perfect, so be sure to come early and take in the stunning spring foliage.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We caught up with our Music Director, Peter Hilliard, in his office on campus at Villanova University's Mullen Center for the Performing Arts where he serves as Artistic Director of the Villanova Theatre department, to reflect on his 13 years at the helm of Savoy's musical ship and how it feels to return with fresh eyes to the very first show he conducted for us.

"Being able to make opera every year with this group of people that love it so much is such a wonderful, life-giving thing to be a part of," he says. "When you get a chance to see a Gondoliers that is really high-functioning with a really deep bench of singers, you should take that opportunity, because it won't come back every single year." He also commented on how much he enjoys working with Artistic Director Grant Mech, whose vision and "musically astute and capable" dramatic decisions make the overall experience truly wonderful.

Don't miss YOUR opportunity to see Savoy's production of The Gondoliers, this May at the Philadelphia Theatre Company's Suzanne Roberts Theatre (15th - 16th) and the Longwood Gardens Opean Air Theatre (29th - 30th)!
