This December, voices from across MontCo and beyond are going to fill Theatre Horizon!. Rising Voices is our brand-new community choir, singing on our stage and out in the neighborhood.

Our very first performances are Friday, December 18 and Saturday, December 19 — an evening of songs of the season, old favorites and a few new discoveries, with a pre-show lobby holiday bazaar and a community bake sale.

We're looking for singers of all kinds — church singers, car singers, people who haven't sung for an audience since high school. You don't need training, sheet music, or any experience on our stage. If you can carry a tune and you can make Monday nights (6-9 pm, late September - mid December), we want to hear you.

We have lost Ryane Nicole Studivant, a beautiful artist and a member of the Theatre Horizon family for nearly twenty years.

Ryane appeared in seven Theatre Horizon productions, beginning with Once on This Island in 2007. She played Toni Day in Holiday Show at the Swing Club and Holiday Show with the Swing Club Band, a Church Lady in The Color Purple, Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors in Concert, and she sang in our 2022 Holiday Concert. Most recently, she stopped the show each night with “I’m Here” in our 20th Anniversary Cabaret.

She was a brilliant friend, a consummate artist, and one of this city’s great champions of theater. Our love goes out to her husband Ian and to all who loved her.

We will never forget what it was like to listen to Ryane sing.

This summer, campers will dream up an original play inspired by fairy tales, folk tales & tall tales! From magical characters and legendary heroes to imaginative worlds, every story element is created by the ensemble - and brought to life on our stage in a world premiere performance for family and friends.

- July 13–24
- 9:00 AM–3:00 PM (Lunch and snacks provided!)

- Ages 7–12 (with opportunities for Junior Counselors 13+)

For Norristown residents, NSTEP Summer Drama Camp is offered on a pay-what-you-can model to help make theatre accessible for every family. For non-residents, scholarships are available through our rolling financial aid application!

Theatre Horizon Summer Drama Camps are all over Montgomery County and beyond this summer, and limited space is still available!

In Theatre Horizon’s Summer Drama Camp, young actors dive into a week of creativity, storytelling, and theatre games. Through improvisation and collaboration, campers will develop original characters, build unique worlds, and bring their stories to life on stage. The week culminates in a lively showcase where they’ll share their imaginative work with family and friends—complete with costumes and props!

Happy Closing to AIN'T MISBEHAVIN'!

We had the honor of welcoming Fats Waller's family to the final Saturday evening performance. Sharing the legacy of his music with the people who carry it forward was unforgettable!

Our cast and family photo recreated a photo from May 21, 1979, which was declared "Fats Waller Day" in Philadelphia. Thanks to Fats Waller's family for sharing this historical image with us.
