We are so excited to announce our next production coming to and this September!

You’re invited to thee wurst dinner partie ever.

We’re creating an immersive restaging of a raunchy 14th century (older than Shakespeare!) s*x comedy about a man named Johann whose wife is cheating on him with a priest who is also named Johann. Done the way God intended—in full drag. 💃🏽 🕺

Facepaint will be having an ENCORE PERFORMANCE this Wednesday, October 5, at 7pm at the Park Avenue Community Center in Swarthmore, PA!

From Center City, you can take the Norristown/Manayunk line from Jefferson Station (or other outlying SEPTA Regional Rail Stations) straight to Norristown Transportation Center. Theatre Horizon is a quick 5 minute walk from the station!

Meet Collin Spangler (they/them), writer-producer, lighting designer, and actor (Harold) in Facepaint!

Collin is a Philadelphia-based theater artist and a member of the Swarthmore College Class of 2020. They participated in a variety of theatrical productions while at Swarthmore, including FU***NG A by Suzan-Lori Parks (director), not her glass but you (director/devisor), Bedroom Scene (lighting designer) and Boy in Pants (actor/devisor). This is their second show for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival -- their autobiographical q***r solo play How to Shave in Six Easy Steps was presented digitally during the 2020 iteration.

They began writing FACEPAINT as a project for playwriting class four years ago. The script has haunted them endlessly. After years of sporadic rewrites and workshop processes, they were incredibly proud to hand the script over to their incredibly talented dear friend Zaina Dana to direct, and are incredibly proud to present this show to you today.

An avid wine lover, they are also the front-of-house manager at Village Vine Wine Bar + Bistro in Swarthmore, PA. They'd recommend pairing this show with sacramental wine, a hearty glass of grappa, or whatever would help you best enjoy the show. They are currently hard at work on their Certified Specialist of Wine Certification, as well as a new play, these unjust wrongs i must endure!!, an end-times farce starring the mythological figures Satan and Prometheus.
