Free nail trims with Love Paws Pet Grooming Studio at our first ever Petapalooza in Downtown Norman! at Up Together Venue this coming Saturday, June 22nd from 10am-2pm. Most of the event takes place INSIDE the cool *air conditioned* space at 228 E Main Street (on the corner of Main and Ponca).

Enjoy free face painting & pet tags, $15 microchips, pop-up shops, workshops, and crafts. We have lots of great silent auction items and food for purchase too. Plus we have a great lineup of speakers that I'll put in the comments.

More about Barbara "Barbie" Brockelman; Barbie has been a long-time resident of Norman, Oklahoma. Her family moved here in the 1980s to open a restaurant that unfortunately closed after just a year. Much of Barbie's family eventually moved away, but she chose to stay in Norman and raise a family in the town she loves.

A proud alumna of Norman High School, Barbie graduated in 1995. The following year she began her lifelong career in pet grooming when she joined PetSmart in 1996. Over the past 28 years, Barbie has honed her skills across nearly every grooming setting imaginable. Her expertise spans grooming dogs of all sizes and life stages, from the tiniest of puppies to the most delicate senior pets.

Barbie's deep passion for her work goes beyond just grooming; "I treasure the relationships I builds with my clients and their pets. Watching my furry clients and their families grow and change has been a rewarding experience. I'm passionate about assisting pet owners in providing the best care throughout their pets' lives," Barbie says.

Sharing her extensive knowledge about grooming and pet care brings Barbie great joy. She looks forward to meeting new clients and their pets and is eager to help them navigate the journey of pet ownership.

Barbie stands out not just for her skill and experience, but also for her genuine commitment to the well-being of the pets she cares. She continues to be a beloved part of the Norman community, enriching the lives of many with her expertise and heartfelt service.

Big thanks to Bill Farris from Prairie Wind Nursery and Marilyn Stewart from Wild Things Nursery and the whole team at Oklahoma Native Plant Network for believing in Norman and choosing EDO: East Downtown Norman for our first annual Native Plant Festival at STASH.

We're truly so grateful to reporter Andrea Hancock for the beautiful write up which you can read in full here. (Please do click on the article as clicks are how newspapers decide what to cover in the future.)

Main Street will be closed for the first time in art walk history, and the event will feature a large public art project with a unique medium -- five storm drain inlets that have been transformed into murals to educate Norman residents about stormwater pollution.

Tonight's Second Friday Art Walk is going to be different.

04/11/2019

Have you heard? We’re shutting down Main Street this Friday for the biggest arts festival that Norman has seen in a long time. I’m grateful to all the businesses who agreed, and to Norman Arts Council, all the city workers and volunteers who will make this happen. Come one, come all to 2nd Friday Norman Art Walk tomorrow night from 6-10p. START at STASH + find two dozen makers and artists in EDO: East Downtown’s lot for Flower Power Market, serving up some gorgeous goods, foods, art, and fun.
